Launch of a sustainable water supply initiative in the Tagant Region
During the 9th World Water Summit in Dakar last week, the Mauritanian Minister for Hydraulics and Sanitation, M. Mohamed El Hacen Ould Boukhreïss has announced the launch of a sustainable water supply initiative in the Tagant Region.
Lead by Corail Developpement, with the support of the Région Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes French Region and the Agence de l’eau Rhône Méditerranée Corse and Améten this project ambitions to deliver fresh water to the rural regions of the very dry Sahelian country.
The project aims at sustainably using the region’s underground brackish water to treat it using standalone solar powered reverse osmosis systems.
Coordinated with the SNDE LTD the implementation is to begin in the coming weeks!
