Dinagat Islands in the Philippines
In December last year, the Typhoon Odette hit hard the province of Dinagat Islands, Philippines.
Among the challenging factors that the residents faced was accessing potable water, given Dinagat town’s remote geographical location.
Thanks to the implementation by the renewable energy system design company VERDEX of the stand alone solar powered desalination unit, the local population is now accessing drinking water.
This project, supported by the Department of Trade and Industry, provides 1000 to 3000L per day to the communities of this island in the Eastern Philippines.
