Solar desalination OSMOSUN® for Indonesia
The first OSMOSUN® solar powered desalination plant was installed in the Komodo National Park, Eastern Indonesia, and produces fresh water and ice for the population since June 2019.
The drinking water supply was provided by tanker and jerrycan deliveries by boat for the remote island, leading to an prohibitive water cost as well as high greenhouse gaz emissions.
The carbon-free water production of the OSMOSUN® in operation convinced atmosfair to support this project.
The installation was performed by a cooperation of French and Indonesian organisations: Akuo Indonesia, Tinamitra Mandiri and Komodo Water.
