Supplying fresh water to hotels using solar desalination
SUPPLY FRESHWATER TO A HOTEL IN A COASTAL AREA FACING WATER SHORTAGES
The Cocotiers Hotel, on the island of Rodrigues in Mauritius, suffered from the recurring drought on the island, and the challenge to supply its customers from the water delivered by the local distribution agency.
The hotel thus wished to install an autonomous production drinking water capacity, from sea water. The coastal tourist installation decided to aquire the most efficient technology today to desalinate seawater with solar energy: OSMOSUN®.
To preserve the tranquility of the hotel’s residents coming to this corner of paradise, Mascara sound proofed the reverse osmosis unit.
This installation was inaugurated in the presence of the island’s officials, and was presented in the local media.
